ABOUT US

Our STEP facilities for counselling and educational services provide psychological and special-educational services. We have a large team of professionals and the whole STEP Pedagogical-Psychological Counselling Centre.

Pedagogical-Psychological Counselling Centre STEP provides psychological and special-educational services. We are registered as an educational facility with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. All our results, reports and recommendations have the same legal validity as that of a government pedagogical-psychological counselling centre.

Our team is made up of professionals with years of experience in the area of support for the education and upbringing of children. We believe that each child is a person with a potential that just needs to be discovered and successfully developed. We deal with children as young as 3, their parents (or legal guardians), teachers, teacher’s assistants and other pedagogical professionals in the Czech Republic

Mgr. Simona Pekárková, Ph.D.

psychologist, special education teacher, therapist

She has spent a number of years supporting the education of children and youth with specific educational needs. She worked as a psychologist and a special education teacher at a special-pedagogical and pedagogical-psychological counselling centre. She has done long-term work with class and teacher groups, resolving conflicts and problems with bullying. She co-founded the Techsophia organisation, concerned with the effective use of new technologies in education. She prepares projects focusing on improving teacher and teacher assistant competencies. She is the co-author of several publications, research and scientific papers. She teaches seminars and workshops in psychology and special pedagogy. She does therapeutic work with children and families. She completed a five-year psychotherapeutic course in systemic family therapy and has experience as a school psychologist. In recent years she has concentrated on the creation and implementation of diagnostic and developmental materials and tools for children.

Mgr. Martina Švandová, Ph.D.

psychologist, special education teacher

Her long-term focus has been the issue of the special educational needs of preschool and school-age children. She worked as a psychologist at a special-education kindergarten, at a centre for children with combined disabilities and a pedagogical-psychological counselling centre. She has participated in the execution of several projects targeting the development of school teaching staff and the education of pedagogical assistants. At the current time her areas of interest include psychological counselling, leading remedial exercises for children with dyslexia and preschool preparatory courses. She also taught children’s psychology and special pedagogy at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. In recent years she has concentrated on the creation and implementation of diagnostic and developmental materials and tools for children.

Ing. Marek Pekárek, MBA

economist

Ing. Marek Pekárek graduated in the field of International Relations at the University of Economics, Prague. In recent years he has held numerous top-level corporate management positions. He has worked abroad as part of the BigBoard company (in Ukraine, Russia and Slovakia). Currently he has an investment share in the development of projects in the areas of education and digital technology use.

She is responsible for the administration of the entire company, manages client contacts and provides them with regular care.

PhDr. Kristýna Krejčová, Ph.D.

psychologist

She worked as a psychologist at the Central Bohemian Region Pedagogical-Psychological Counselling Centre. She completed the FIE-I (Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment I) and Video Interaction Guidance courses. She set up “Kuliferda”, a magazine for the development of school readiness issued by the Raabe publishing house and also writes for it. She teaches pedagogic, general and social psychology at the University of Economics, Prague, where she also participates in research and publishing activities.

Mgr. Tereza Komárková, Ph.D.

psychologist, special education teacher

She worked for 10 years as a psychologist and special education teacher at the Central Bohemian Region Pedagogical-Psychological Counselling Centre, where she gained significant experience in diagnosing children and youth, carrying out individual therapy, working with groups, classes as well as families. She completed self-experiential training and theoretical psychotherapeutic education (in the SUR model), followed up with a number of professional training sessions and courses in the area of psychodiagnosis and work with pupils with special educational needs. At PPP Step she primarily focuses on psychological and special-educational diagnostics. At the same time she is working as part of the academic staff of the Charles University Faculty of Arts, lecturing in psychological disciplines, special education and counselling, as well as conducting research and contributing to publishing at the Department of Education.

Mgr. Hana Drvotová

She studied special education and educational counselling at the Charles University in Prague, and has practiced as a special education teacher with a focus on preschooler readiness and children with specific learning disabilities for years now.
She focuses on the issue of school success. Apart from her active work at the counselling centre, she also lectures on school readiness in kindergartens and connects primary school work with that of a counsellor. She has taught at the lower stages of primary school for many years, especially first and second class and additionally working with children from the whole lower stage of primary school, especially in the area of behavioural counselling. Furthemore, she has a wealth of experience with upper stage primary school pupils from previous years.

PhDr. Daniela Krausová

psychologist, special education teacher

Her practical experience is dealing with problems surrounding the education and upbringing of children and youth. She takes care of children with special educational needs, primarily specific learning disabilities and difficulties resulting from an ADD or ADHD diagnosis. She carries out diagnoses herself, alongside remedial care and re-education, providing systematic support to parents and teachers. She works with preschool children as part of the Maxík stimulation program. In 1995 she and her colleagues founded the DYS-centrum® Praha, o.s. (an organisation dealing with issues of developmental learning disabilities and ADD, ADHD), where she worked as a psychologist, lecturer and president of the association. She further enriched her expertise through years practicing school psychology, working both with individual pupils as well as class collectives as a whole. She has also worked at government pedagogical-psychological counselling centres, and at the educational counselling centre in Slaný. At the current time she also lectures in on the topics of substitutive family custody and the socio-legal protection of children.

Mgr. Kateřina Plávková

She graduated in Social Pedagogy at the Department of Education of the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. She primarily focuses on group work with children and youth. For several years now she has lectured on primary prevention of risky behaviour in schools, as part of the Christian Pedagogical-Psychological Counselling Centre in Prague. She also has cursory experience of providing methodological support for programs of personal and social education and their implementation. She has been working at the counselling centre for her second year as a social skills practice lecturer.

 

Bc. Gabriela Michálková

coordinator of educational activities and head of social skills practice and individual guidance

Currently completing her master’s in Social Pedagogy, she is employed as a coordinator for re-education and remedial activities for children with learning disabilities. Apart from leading the Social Skills Practice group she works with clients individually by providing psychological guidance. She takes part in the preparation of professional materials for teachers and parents (diagnostic sheets, PPP STEP publications and more).

Mgr. Tomáš Sýkora

specialist in educational technologies

Mgr. Tomáš Sýkora has a degree in Software Engineering from the Faculty of Information Technology at the Czech Technical University in Prague and New Media Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University, and has also studied educational technologies at Utrecht University. He is a co-founder of the TechSophia and iSophi Education companies, focussing on the creation of educational tools. He led the development of educational games for preschoolers as well as the first grade of primary schools with these projects supporting tens of thousands of children throughout the Czech Republic further develop their abilities. He is collaborating in research on multimedia educational materials at the Charles University Faculty of Mathematics and Physics’ AMULAB (Advanced Multimedia Learning Laboratory). He lectures and provides workshops for parents and teachers concerning the possibilities of new technologies.

Bc. Eva Mazánková

coordinator

Currently completing her master’s degree in Social Pedagogy at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. At the counselling centre she is a key member of staff who coordinates our work with kindergartens as part of the “Individual Education for Preschoolers” project. Furthermore, she works with individual children and groups who have problems with socialising and communication. She provides remedial lessons to children with special educational needs and those who have problems coping with their school work.

Petra Vychytilová

Currently completing her course of Education and School Management at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. She is a kindergarten coordinator as part of the “Individual Education for Preschoolers” project. At the counselling centre she is an assistant for project calls, grants and all the associated administrative activity.

Jitka Klímová

assistant, accountant, human resources

She has a wealth of experience in the areas of administration, accounting and human resources. She has worked for non-profit organisations for a number of years. Over the long-term she has provided assistance to families with children requiring special care. She coordinates client care in family and school environments.

Denisa Švecová

assistant, administrative work

Ensures the daily operation of the office, manages the website and assembly of the tools on offer.

Před vyšetřením prosíme o vyplnění dotazníku o dítěti (ke stažení zde). První část dotazníku vyplní rodič. Pokud se vyšetření týká školní zralosti nebo výchovných obtíží v mateřské škole, doplní důležité informace také učitel MŠ.

K urychlení rozhodování a stanovení vhodné péče jsou vítané rovněž zprávy a informace ze zdravotní dokumentace (předchozí zprávy z psychologických vyšetření, zprávy a závěry od odborných lékařů). Užitečné jsou i ukázky prací dětí doma i v mateřské škole (namalované obrázky, vypracování drobných úkolů či pracovních listů apod.). Pokud zprávy či práce dětí máte, přineste je prosím k vyšetření (stačí kopie).
